Authorities investigate homicides in Richmond, El Sobrante

Authorities are investigating two homicides in recent days, including the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old Richmond man Friday and the fatal shooting of a 52-year-old man in El Sobrante on Saturday.

Richmond police responded to the intersection of 25th Street and Emeric Avenue following a ShotSpotter gun shot detection activation at 8:46 p.m. Friday, Richmond police Capt. Al Walle said. There, officers found the 24 year old, whose identity hasn’t been released yet, lying on the street with multiple gunshot wounds, Walle said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No information about a motive or possible suspects was released.

On Saturday, Contra Costa County Sheriff’s detectives responded to gunfire reports at 12:20 p.m. near the residential intersection of Jasmine Court and Jasmine Way.

Michael Bagwell of Richmond was found in the street and pronounced dead at the scene, sheriff’s officials said. No other information was released about the homicide.
