Just in time for Halloween, The Wolfman is set to be screened aboard the SS Red Oak Victory in Richmond on Thursday, Oct. 28.
Admission is free to see the 1941 horror classic starring Lon Chaney, Claude Rains, and Ralph Bellamy aboard the historic ship docked at 1337 Canal Blvd. A $10 donation is suggested to support the maintenance and restoration of the Red Oak Victory, although any amount is appreciated. Ship boarding is at 6:30 p.m., and the movie will start at 7 p.m.
“Our movie host, Craig Riordan, will introduce the film and tell you why it is more than just a horror classic and how it relates to World War II and the US Homefront,” according to organizers.
Attendees are asked to help transform the ship into a Halloween party boat, so they’re encouraged to break in their new costume and “try out your best scary face before the weekend,” organizers said.
The National Park Service and Red Oak Victory are presenting film. Refreshments will be available for purchase. See the flyer for more information.
