Amid a multitude of Independence Day cancellations, there’s a bright light on the Richmond waterfront.
Riggers Loft Wine Company will be reopening Thursday, July 2, just in time to celebrate the holiday with Bay views, some fine California wines and a newly launched tasting menu prepared by Carrie Dove Catering.
The collective wine bar, tasting room, winery and cidery is situated in a spacious indoor/outdoor space and plays home to principal owners R&B Cellars, as well as Carica Wines and Far West Cider Company.
“The winemakers are excited to welcome back eager wine tasters after months of sheltering in place. With its spacious interior and large patio, Riggers Loft is perfect for solo tasters and small groups. There’s something for everyone, from Napa Valley Cabernet to Russian River Chardonnay,” said Riggers Loft in a statement.
According to the wine company, the new addition of Carrie Dove Catering will bring “one of the Bay Area’s best caterers” to the Richmond waterfront to serve a farm-fresh tasting menu featuring seasonal California cuisine that “pairs perfectly with the eclectic blends and single varietal wines at Riggers Loft.”
This week’s menu will feature roasted chicken, corn and tomato empanadas along with fig, gorgonzola, and caramelized shallot flatbread.
It being a COVID-19 world, Riggers Loft will have health safety protocols in place as they reopen. According to the wine company, as they enter, guests will be asked to wear masks and wash their hands at a wash station next to the door.
Then, a staff member will check visitors’ temperatures and ask if they have a fever or if they’ve been in contact with anyone with COVID-19. Finally, visitors will be asked to provide their name and contact info, in case contact tracing is needed (the info will not be used in any other way).
“Riggers Loft’s spacious interior and patio provide ample room to space seating areas at least 10 feet apart,” said the wine company.
