Bridge Storage and ArtSpace has the perfect remedy for those craving access to the arts in a COVID-19 world. On Thursday, March 27 at 8 p.m., Bridge is hosting a Virtual Film Festival featuring works by local indie filmmakers.
To view the films, visit Bridge’s Facebook page. Film enthusiasts can click “set reminder” for the premiere to be notified when the film launches.
“Each week we will screen films online and host a Q&A with the director,” said Bridge Marketing Director Iris AlRoy about the recurring online festival.
This week Bridge will show two films by Tony Jonick and Kingfisher Pictures. The first is “The Ghosts of Highway 20”—a 10 minute film starring Dorian Lockett, Jamella Cross and Elijah el-Amin.
The second film is a 7:50 minute, award-winning short called “Grandmama Tledezckanu Comes to America.” It stars Shannon O’Hare, Big Daddy and Geneva Jonick.
On Friday, April 3, at 8 p.m., Bridge will continue its Virtual Film Festival by showing animated shorts by Paulette Traverso.
“I’m working with local filmmakers who I know through Bridge—either they shot a film here, use our self-storage, co-work here or attend our periodic filmmaker meetups,” said AlRoy about the festival’s artists.
