Nunez Tattoo, a tattoo and piecing business located at 12724-12718 San Pablo Ave. in Richmond, is marking its 18th anniversary.
To celebrate, the business is hosting the “Nunez Festival de Arte y Musica” this Sat., Aug. 27, from 12-4 p.m. at its San Pablo Avenue location. The family friendly festival touts that it will feature “everything art.” Tickets are $25 pp for adults and $8 pp for kids ages 12 and under. Discounts will be given to those who “come into the business,” said owner and tattoo artist Juan Nunez.
“With this festival, I’m trying to do two things: to build up the local community by helping nearby businesses and…celebrating local starving artists,” said Nunez. “It’s all about bringing businesses and the community together.”
As part of Saturday’s festivities, Festival de Arte y Musica will feature live music throughout the event by the GT Groove Band, all-you-can-eat tacos made by Richmond’s El Chino’s Tacos, kids jumpers, vendors, Zumba dancers and a wide array of artistic activities such as arts & crafts, oil & acrylic painting and airbrush art—plus fine art and art exhibits on display.
If the art and music festival gains traction with local interest, Nunez hopes to offer similar events in the future.
While Nunez’s business venture primarily focuses on tattoos and piercings, he also offers branding and marketing solutions to other businesses, such as coaching for new businesses, graphic design, silk screen T-shirts, business cards, fliers and banners. Nunez also teaches ongoing art classes via his tattoo business.
“I had to learn over the years,” said Nunez about his coaching and marketing services. “Now that I have invested in the tools, I offer them to other businesses at an affordable price.”
Nunez Tattoo is open Tuesday through Saturday from 12-7 p.m. For more information about the business or festival, contact [email protected], 510-233-1262 or click here.
