A 21-year-old Richmond man was arrested on charges including attempted murder, gang invovlement and weapons violations in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred on 23rd Street in San Pablo on Monday.
The shooting was reported at 12:10 p.m. in the 1300 block of 23rd Street, according to San Pablo police Det. Bryan Biama.
Local public safety cameras captured the incident in which a vehicle driving down 23rd Street made a u-turn before an occupant opens fire out a window at three males walking on the sidewalk.
One of the rounds struck a nearby parked car, while another round penetrated into a living room of a home occupied by feive people, Det. Biama said. Luckily, no one was hurt during the shooting.
Using public safety cameras, both the suspect vehicle and also Guillermo Santizo, 21, of Richmond, were identified. San Pablo police later served a search warrant at Santizo’s residence, where they said they found the gun used in the drive-by shooting.
In an interview, Santizo admitted to being an active gang member who believed he was shooting at rival gang members, Biama said.
He was booked in county jail on attempted murder, gang invovmemt nad weaspons vilations.
