Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on I-80 in Richmond Saturday night.
The shooting occurred in the westbound lanes east of Richmond Parkway. The victim, who was reportedly identified as Keonno Davis, 24, of Oakland, was subsequently driven to Kaiser Richmond, where she succumbed to her injuries at about 9:05 p.m.
CHP detectives believe the victim was driving a Chevy Malibu when she and the vehicle were struck by gunfire.
The victim’s identity was being withheld pending notification of next of kin, according to the Contra Costa Coroner’s Office.
Detectives are requesting assistance from the public in gathering the details surrounding this freeway shooting.
