A new art show called “What Is The Point” is coming to the Ar-Ti-Fact Gallery in Point Richmond. The exhibition features work by the Alexander and Quayle Super Squad and opens on March 7 at 11 a.m. You can visit the gallery at 109 W. Richmond Ave. through March 29 to see a collection of silly and colorful drawings.
The artists Julian Quayle and Aimee Alexander work together to create strange and fun characters. Quayle is a professional graphic designer from England who once designed a record cover for David Bowie. He draws detailed and unusual shapes that serve as the base for their art.
Alexander adds bright colors to the drawings using Sharpie markers. She was previously a member of the Sharpie Squad and uses her skills to bring a bold California style to Julian’s art. The artists describe their finished work as a mix of gloomy British humor and bright West Coast colors.
