For Contra Costa County residents with pets, a free health clinic will be held in Richmond on Saturday, Feb. 14.
The clinic begins at 9 a.m. at 325 Civic Center Plaza.
A partnership between the city and organizations like Joybound People & Pets and Contra Costa Animal Services, the program uses Measure X funding to offer shots and tracking chips at no cost to owners.
The clinic offers several important medical services for local animals. Dogs can receive Rabies and DAPP vaccines, while cats can receive Rabies and FVRCP vaccines. Workers will also provide free microchips and give out dry pet food while supplies last.
To participate, you must be a resident of Contra Costa County and at least 18 years old. You should bring proof of your address and any previous vaccine records you have. All dogs must be on a leash or in a carrier, and cats must be in a secure carrier.
The event will happen rain or shine, and every pet will get a quick checkup to make sure they are healthy enough for their shots.
