Friends and neighbors are stepping up to support the family of Donna Revecho, 66, who died on Dec. 4 from injuries she suffered after being hit by a vehicle in El Cerrito in mid-November.

On Nov. 15, Revecho was struck by a vehicle near San Pablo Avenue and Waldo Avenue while walking in the area. First responders found her unresponsive in the roadway and she was flown to a hospital, where she remained in critical condition before passing away nearly three weeks later. The driver remained on the scene and no arrest has been announced in connection with the incident.

In the wake of this tragedy, a lifelong friend of Revecho’s children, Desiree, launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral and related expenses. Her message highlights that Donna’s children, Nikki, Michelle, and Chris, are now facing the difficult task of arranging services during the holiday season.

“They aren’t the type to ask for help, but they could use your support,” Desiree said. She added that the family has always been generous and supportive of others, and now the community has a chance to give back.

Donna is remembered by those who knew her as loving, thoughtful, and full of humor and resilience. The fundraiser aims not only to help with immediate costs but also to honor her memory: any remaining funds will be donated to one or more charities in her name, Desiree said.
