The Pinole Police Department arrested 55‑year‑old Rodeo resident Todd Graybeal on Monday in connection with a series of vandalism incidents in the city that included negative messages directed at elected city officials.

The offenses occurred during the early morning hours of July 30, between approximately 2:10 a.m. and 2:50 a.m. Five locations were targeted, including four local businesses and one residence. The suspect used red spray‑paint to write the negative messages, according to police. While police did not elaborate on what the graffiti stated, a KRON4 report showed an image of one of the incidents that stated in red paint, “Fire the mayor our roads suck.”

Surveillance footage and witness reports helped determine the suspect’s identity. After months of investigative work and receiving community tips, officers arrested Graybeal on Monday. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on a charge of felony vandalism.
