San Pablo PD requests help finding arson suspect

The San Pablo Police Department (SPPD) is requesting public assistance to identify a suspect linked to an arson incident on Sept. 18. At about 4:17 a.m., officers responded to a vehicle fire in the 13900 block of San Pablo Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a car parked within a carport, fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters from the Contra Costa County Fire District extinguished the blaze. At the time, both the vehicle and the attached commercial building were unoccupied. Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set by an unknown individual. The suspect was seen leaving the scene on foot. He is described as a white man, approximately 30–40 years old, wearing a black graphic T-shirt over a gray long-sleeve shirt, dark pants, and black shoes. Police are encouraging residents who know this person's whereabouts to contact Detective J. Spiegel at JosephS@SanPabloCA.gov or call 510-215-3109.
