San Pablo police K9 Zayn is enjoying a moment in the spotlight after a bust Tuesday night during which he helped officers locate a Tec-9.
San Pablo police SPPD officers received a ShotSpotter activation alert and responded to that area, where they said they found two subjects walking away.
The subjects were detained and, with K9 Zayn’s assistance, the gun was located. Both subjects were arrested for various gun charges and booked at county jail.
The announcement of Zayn’s accomplishment on Facebook drew much praise for the police pooch from community members. Also highlighted was the successful integration of ShotSpotter technology with police patrol efforts.
