The newly constructed El Cerrito Tennis Center will be dedicated in a grand opening ceremony at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 13. The center is located at 1120 Arlington Blvd.
The City of El Cerrito collaborated with the El Cerrito Tennis Club (ECTC) on construction of a new center, which will serve as a gathering and meeting area for both tennis players and spectators during tournaments and regular games.
The project included reconstructing the pathway leading from Arlington Boulevard to the tennis courts, installing a bleacher, two picnic tables, three benches, a kiosk, and new landscaping, the city said.Â
The project was funded primarily through donations collected by the El Cerrito Tennis Club, a grant from the United States Tennis Association (USTA), along with city funding for some site improvements.
