The U.S. Postal Service is hosting more than a dozen hiring events this month to help future employees create their online profile and immediately start applying for jobs.

The Postal Service has immediate needs to fill positions in mail processing, including clerks and mail handlers, delivery (both city and rural carriers), tractor trailer operators, and mechanics, labor custodians and automotive technicians.

A complete list of job fair locations can be found here and include Oakland, Berkeley, Vallejo, Antioch, Fairfield and Sacramento.

Applicants must be 18 years or older and also must be able to pass drug screening and a criminal background investigation. Some positions require an exam. Any position that has a driving requirement will also require a valid driver license and clean DMV two-year driving history.

USPS is currently in the process of a 10-year Delivering for America plan to moderize the postal network, restore longterm financial stability and improve service.
