Craft retailer JOANN will immediately begin closing 530 stores nationwide, including the store at El Cerrito Plaza, in the wake of filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for the second time in a year, according to KRON4.
A company spokesperson called it a “difficult decision to make” given the impact to staff and customers, and said it also followed a “careful analysis of store performance and future strategic fit for the Company.”
Among the list of closures are 12 Bay Area stores in total, including in Concord, Dublin, San Leandro and Corte Madera.
