Richmond firefighters responded to 16,532 calls for emergency services in 2024, averaging just over 45 calls for service per day, an increase of 4.5 percent from 2023, according to Richmond Firefighters Local 188, which recently published the year-end report online.
Engine Company 67 based on Cutting Boulevard near Martin Luther King Jr. Park repeated as the busiest single company in the city for 2024, answering 3,234 calls for service.
The second-most calls were fielded by Engine/Truck Co. 68 (one crew) with 2,766 service calls, followed by Engine Co. 64 with 2,634 calls.
“Our community can rest assured that our members will continue to serve them with the same high level of pride, professionalism and dedication they have come to expect as we enter into 2025 and beyond,” Local 188 reported.
