The annual Be A Kid fundraiser is returning to RYSE for the first time since 2019.

The event will take place on Friday, April 28, from 6-10 p.m. at the new RYSE campus located at 3939 Bissell Ave. in Richmond.

A fun-filled night of food, drink, dancing, games, and more, the night includes a sneak peek into the newly renovated RYSE Health Justice Center. This year’s theme is Rooted and RYSing, reflecting RYSE’s commitment to building a more just and liberatory future for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) young people and families in West Contra Costa County.

“We are excited to welcome everyone to our newly-opened buildings and campus for this year’s Be A Kid event,” said Kimberly Aceves-Iñiguez, RYSE Executive Director. “This event is a celebration of our collective vision for a more just and liberatory future for BIPOC young people and families. We can’t wait to see you there!”

Event tickets support RYSE’s free programming and services for youth ages 13-21, as well as RYSE’s Emergency Youth Fund.

All guests will receive a signature cocktail or drink, food from Señor Sisig, a make-your-own frozen yogurt cup from FroGo, access to a beer/wine bar, and plenty of other activities to bring the community together.

“We will see you on the dance floor with DJ Davey D, and guests will enjoy the popular Paint n’ Sip station, the RYSE Healing Lounge, photo booth, and many other fun games, activities, and prizes!” said Aceves-Iñiguez.

RYSE is offering special rates for couples, larger groups, and RYSE members/alumni (21+). Tickets are now available for purchase at this eventbrite website here

RYSE is a youth-centered organization founded in 2008 dedicated to building youth power for young people to love, learn, educate, heal and transform lives and communities.
