The “4th Annual Bay Front Run” will return to the Hercules waterfront Sun., Oct. 3 with a host of options for people of all ages to participate and a festival to boot.
Hosted by the Hercules Education Foundation, and benefiting local schools, the 4th Annual Bay Front Run will happen from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and include 5K and 10K chip timed runs, 5K and 10K virtual runs, 1 mile run/walk and a “Kids Fun Run” for the younger set. Packet pick-up and race-day registration will be at Sanderling and Bay Front Blvd. in Hercules.
The race times for the 5K, 10K and 1 mile will be 10 a.m. while the Kids Fun Run will kick off at 11 a.m. As its name suggests, the run follows the Bay Front Trail “where you can expect beautiful views and a gentle breeze,” said organizers.
Registration for the chip timed and virtual runs is $30, while the Kids Fun Run is $10 for ages 3-10. All in-person and virtual participants who register by Sept. 5 will receive an event T-shirt and finisher medal; trophies will be awarded to the overall female and male finishers, per organizers.
“Come for the run and stay for the fun,” said organizers, who suggest enjoying the Bay Front Festival immediately following the event. There will be vendors, live music, food trucks, kids activities and free flu shots on hand.
