A community collaboration in San Pablo is holding an outdoor Thanksgiving buffet feast this Sunday, Nov. 22.
The event will take place on the lawn at MacArthur Community Baptist Church at 2301 Rumrill Blvd from 11;30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Along with traditional Thanksgiving meals with all the fixings (including pumpkin and apple pies), hygiene kits and clothing for people in need will be offered.
Guidelines for social distancing and masks will be observed, said Pastor Linda Castillo, executive director of Life Changers International in San Pablo, who organized the event with her husband Jesse Castillo, the chairperson of Life Changer.
“Bay Hills Community Church provided the pop-ups, the table and chairs for this wonderful event and the Bay Area Rescue Mission will be providing the traditional Thanksgiving [meal],” said Pastor Castillo.
She added, “We intend to serve the entire community…we want to make sure everybody who attends know they are welcome to be here.”
San Pablo City Councilmember Rich Kinney, who also serves as director of Apostle Ministries, expressed gratitude to the churches, Bay Area Rescue Mission and other groups and individuals who came together to make this effort happen.
“We must keep our human connections and care for one another,” Councilmember Kinney said.
