A 58-year-old man died after being pulled from a burning home in El Sobrante early Sunday.

On Monday, the Contra Costa County coroner’s office identified the victim as Daniel Coleman of El Sobrante.

Firefighters arrived at the scene just after 3:45 a.m. and noticed flames coming through the roof, ConFire spokesperson Steve Hill said. Coleman was pulled from the structure, but died at the scene. No one else was inside the home, Hill said.

The fire appeared to have begun in the attic, but the cause remains under investigation, Hill said.
