Dr. Mayra Padilla of Contra Costa College spoke about the importance of college and life experiences at the awards ceremony for the Chevron Richmond Somos — Latin American and Hispanic Employee Network scholarship program in 2015.

For an 11th consecutive year, the Somos Employee Network at Chevron Richmond is offering $1,000 scholarships to qualifying high school seniors.

The application process is currently open, with a deadline of Friday, March 23. You can access the scholarship application here.

The Somos Network is a group of dedicated Latin American and Hispanic employees at Chevron who work together to support each other’s career development and organize community engagement projects such as this scholarship program, which is open to students from all ethnic backgrounds. Eligible students demonstrate scholastic achievement, community involvement and leadership skills.
