Richmond’s IBX Fitness, which in a non-COVID-19 world operates out of the Booker T. Anderson Community Center, has shifted to a remote format with a workout plan for members during April. As part of its virtual game plan, IBX is unveiling a special challenge.

“As we enter another week of social distancing, we want to give all our IBX members an extra little something to look forward to every week,” stated IBX on its Facebook page. “We are inviting you all to participate in the monthlong “Going the (Social) Distance” Challenge!”

As part of the challenge, which kicks off today and runs through April 28, members can take on one challenge per week and get a point each day for participating. Challenge topics will include exercise, healthy eating habits and staying hydrated, per Ian Birnam, the head instructor/personal trainer at IBX. Extra points can be earned by participating in IBX classes.

Current IBX monthly members and class package holders are eligible to join in the challenge. Those who don’t have a membership or package can click here to sign up for one.

Those interested can visit this group page to get the lowdown on the weekly Going the (Social) Distance Challenges and the 411 on how to send in proof of completion of daily tasks.

At the end of April, three winners will be chosen from a raffle. For each point a participant earns during the challenge, they will receive one raffle entry. Prizes will include gift certificates to a local business of each winner’s choosing.
