Just in time for the U.S. Open, after-school tennis begins in Richmond.
From Sept. 3 through Dec. 20 at the Nicholl Park Tennis Courts, 3230 Macdonald Ave., youth ages 6 to 17 will be honing their skills Mondays through Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The program costs $66 per month for residents, $83 per month for nonresidents. See the flyer below for registration information.
Also being offered is an adult tennis program that runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. That program began Aug. 1 and runs through Nov. 28.
In each case, classes are taught by staff from the Richmond Community Services Department.
The classes are one part of a rich partnership with the relatively young Richmond Tennis Association (RTA) that has enriched the local tennis community through court renovations and youth and adult programs. For more information, visit the RTA site here.
