Richmond is getting a fresh kind of holiday celebration this year.

On Saturday, Dec. 20, CoBiz Richmond, the local coworking and community hub that supports creatives, entrepreneurs, and neighbors, is launching Richmas: The Community Gala, a citywide cultural party open to everyone.

The event brings together Richmond’s neighbors of all ages for music, food, art, business showcases, and community connection. Local talent will be on full display, with MC Inhergy, former CoBiz director and cultural revivalist, hosting with Bay Area legend Kool John, and beats from DJs Shellheart, WhoIsMook?, and Young Ella Baker.

Black Santa will be there taking photos, kids can dive into hands-on craft fun at the Art Corner, adults can enjoy a wine tasting from Bella Union Winery and food from Café 15, and there’s even virtual golf courtesy of PrimiteGolf.

A special BLK OUT MARKET will spotlight local Black-owned businesses like Brown Sugar Botanicals, Ryan Jae Smiles, CoCo Beauties, Royal Touch Wellness, Awaken Beauty Inc., and Ya Diddy Lemonade. Craft cocktails and festive drinks will be served by Cherry’s Eye, and interactive community activations invite attendees to reflect, set intentions, and connect with others.

Tickets are $25 for adults and free for youth under 18. In the spirit of the season, the event also invites people to donate tickets for families in need, making sure everyone has a chance to join the fun. Organizers hope Richmas becomes a new Richmond tradition.

“As someone who has poured years of work, love, and intention into CoBiz and the Richmond community, Richmas means a lot to me,” said MC Inhergy. “This city has a brilliance and heartbeat that deserves to be seen, celebrated, and poured back into. Richmas is a reminder that Richmond deserves beautiful things—and we deserve spaces where our joy is the center.”

Richmas takes place at CoBiz Richmond, 1503 Macdonald Ave, Suite A. Partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and organizations are still open, and organizers are encouraging other community groups to get involved.
