A man was shot and killed Friday night in Richmond’s Iron Triangle neighborhood, according to police.
The incident unfolded around 8:43 p.m., when the RPD Communications Center received a ShotSpotter activation in the 800 block of Lincoln Avenue. Soon afterward, they also received reports of shots fired and someone struck by gunfire.
Responding officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite attempts at life-saving measures, he died at the scene.
Homicide detectives have taken over the case. At this point, no arrests have been made. The department has not released the victim’s name.
This marked the citiy’s second homicide this year.
