AC Transit says its service changes that will take effect on Aug. 10 will increase bus reliability, including in West Contra Costa County.

Here are changes impacting West County:

  • Line 70 will extend to Del Norte BART Station to increase access for Richmond communities and provide additional service on Cutting Blvd. On weekdays, Line 70 will be coordinated with Line 76 to provide service every 15 minutes along Cutting Blvd. Weekday frequency will increase to every 30 minutes, and weekend frequency will stay the same, every 60 minutes.

  • Line 76 will now serve the Rollingwood neighborhood previously served by Line 72 and improve reliability to the neighborhood. Hours of operation will be extended from 5 am to 12 am on weekdays and 6 am to 12 am on weekends.

  • Line 72L (formerly 72R): frequency will decrease to every 30 minutes daily to free up resources to improve service reliability in other parts of the network.

  • Line 72M hours of operation will be extended from 5 am to 1 am daily, in order to improve service in the late evening and provide more travel opportunities along the San Pablo and Macdonald corridors.
  • Line 74 will end at the intersection of Valley View Rd. and Olinda Rd. to provide faster trips from De Anza Senior High School to Richmond. Hours of operation on weekends will be extended from 6 am to 7 pm. Weekday hours of operation will remain the same (5 am–10 pm).

  • New Line L: Formerly Route L/LA, the Transbay Line L will now serve Richmond Parkway Transit Center to maintain coverage to local communities.

  • Line 376 will be eliminated, with  Line 76 running until midnight to offset Line 376 elimination in parts of the existing service area.

  • Transbay Line LA is being phased out; its service area toward Richmond Parkway will be covered by the revised Line L.

  • Line 79 will be eliminated and replaced by Line 27 to El Cerrito via Colusa Ave., and Line 36 to Rockridge BART via Claremont/Clark Kerr Campus.
