Richmond Police Department (RPD) officers recently escorted Emma Moody, the daughter of their fallen colleague, Officer Bradley Moody, to her recent high school graduation.

“Brad, we wish you could have been here to witness this milestone and to see the wonderful young adult Emma has grown up to be. K27, your legacy continues to shine, and you will never be forgotten,” stated the RPD in a reel posted on Facebook.

The RPD was quick to shout-out the Fairfield Police Department, Vacaville Police Department and Vacaville Fire Department, all of which assisted in giving Emma the escort to her high school graduation. The Richmond Standard is keeping Emma’s school’s name private.

Officer Moody will have a familiar ring to Richmond residents, due to the Officer Bradley A. Moody Memorial Underpass being named in his honor in the city’s Marina Bay neighborhood. Officer Moody perished in 2008 at 29 years old when his patrol car crashed on Marina Bay Parkway while responding to a felony assault call, according to the RPD. His daughter, Emma was one year old at the time, and joined her mother, Susan, and older sister, Maddy, in experiencing his loss.

The RPD gave Maddy Moody a similar escort when she graduated from high school two years ago.
