A holy trinity of collaborators are coming together to host a free “Resurrection Day Celebration” Saturday, April 19 at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Richmond, ultimately underscoring the reason for the season.

The church, led by Rev. Dr. Carole McKindley-Alvarez, senior pastor, will partner with the Contra Costa Youth Service Bureau (CCYSB), whose Executive Director is Marena Brown, and Today’s Youth Matter (TYM), led by Executive Director Marshelle Wilburn, to host the pre-Easter event.

“Over the years these three organizations have collaborated successfully in the Richmond community to provide a safe environment for the children and families,” said CCYSB’s Glenda Roberts. “This Resurrection Celebration is just another example of how working together works.”

The family-friendly event will include an Easter egg hunt, food and games to enjoy at the Richmond church. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own bags for the egg hunt.

On its website, TYM encouraged community members to register their families today for the free event, so the organizers can be sure to have enough food and activity supplies. Register here.

Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church is located at 684 Juliga Woods St. in Richmond.
