Ricky Antonio is a native of Richmond—Tacos El Tucan once named a Red Birria Burrito after him and he played basketball for Coach Carter at Richmond High School. But these days, he’s also a filmmaker whose movie, “Get Doe The Money Chase” just got accepted into the AfroComicCon International Film Festival Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 4 to 10:30 p.m. at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland.
Antonio’s short film will be screened alongside others from the Bay Area, U.S. and the world at the AFCCIFF Film Fest, which will also include a fashion show, live musical entertainment and a Q&A with the filmmakers. The screenings will be of films that are 3-20 minute shorts and animations.
All trailers submitted to Oakland’s AfroComicCon will be also be enrolled in LA-based film festival “Clip Tease,” with the winner getting their film produced.
Get Doe The Money Chase, which Antonio wrote, directed, produced and co-stars in, is a 40 minute action/comedy about a group of guys chasing down money as they experience extreme adventures along the way. He also produced the soundtrack and wrote the majority of the work on it, with the lineup including rap by the legendary Mistah F.A.B.
