The Red Oak Victory’s “80th Anniversary Fundraiser” Saturday, Nov. 9 from 6–10 p.m. aboard the ship will celebrate its WWII-era past, while also ensuring its future on the Richmond shoreline.

The fundraiser, which takes place the date the ship was launched, will treat supporters to a first-class dinner, dancing, tours and Nick Rossi’s live 1940s swing music. Tickets are $100 per plate/$600 for a table for six and supports both the Red Oak Victory and its parent organization, the Richmond Museum Association, which is marking its 70th anniversary.

The USS Red Oak Victory was launched from Kaiser Shipyard #1 eight decades ago, and sailed on to serve as a U.S. Navy fleet ammunition carrier, AK-235, and in the Pacific Theater in WWII, according to ship’s crew. “The ship is the last surviving product of the Kaiser-Richmond shipyards and a museum ship serving as a historical resource for the Bay Area and the country as a whole.”

The tours available during the fundraiser will include stops at the ship’s bridge, captain’s quarters, original radio room, deck guns and a peek into the engine room.

Purchase tickets to the Anniversary Fundraiser here and find the Red Oak Victory at 1337 Canal Blvd. in Richmond.
