Two San Pablo police officers received the prestigious Life Saving Medal for their heroic actions in saving the life of a man suffering from an opioid overdose emergency.

The incident occurred the morning of May 15, when Officers Kristina Foster and Brooke Kobold responded to the emergency call and found a 21-year-old man unresponsive and without a pulse, according to the San Pablo Police Department.

They immediately administered Narcan and CPR and were able to revive the subject as medical personnel arrived on scene.

At the San Pablo City Council meeting on Monday, city officials including Police Chief Brian Bubar recognized the officers. Their training and courage were attributed for the reason a young man was provided a second chance at life.
