Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects who shot at their victims’ vehicle over the course of 50 blocks in a high speed chase along Macdonald Avenue in Richmond and El Cerrito.

Three people were injured in the shooting that was reported about 10:19 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20.

The vehicular chase between the suspects and victims began in Richmond, near the intersection of Macdonald Avenue and 1st Street.

“As the victims fled eastbound in their car on Macdonald Ave., the suspects shot at them over the course of 50 city blocks, hitting the victims with bullets several times,” according to El Cerrito police. “When the victims entered El Cerrito, their vehicle collided with a parked car near the intersection with Mono Ave. The suspects fired at least 12 rounds at the victims and their disabled car before fleeing the scene.”

El Cerrito and Richmond police officers responded to the scene and located the victims, who were transported to hospitals for treatment. All are expected to recover from their injuries, police said.

No suspects are in custody. El Cerrito police are asking residents and businesses on Macdonald Avenue to review surveillance systems for images or video of the high-speed chase between 10:10 p.m. and 10:20 p.m. Sunday night.

“We are also asking residents in the neighborhood of Macdonald Ave. and Mono Ave. to review video surveillance for images of the suspect vehicle fleeing the area,” police said.
