Point Richmond Music (PRM) is gearing up for its next free summer concert on Fri. Aug. 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. with Paper Birds and Howell Devine taking the stage. The performances will take place in the historic hamlet’s downtown at Park Place between West Richmond and Washington Avenues.

PRM noted that concertgoers can enjoy the wide array of eateries available in downtown Point Richmond, while beverages are available from its own no-host bar. Proceeds directly support the music series, per PRM.

Taking the stage from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Paper Birds is known as a cross-country pop-up band headed up by notable songwriting duo Claudia Russell and Katie Dahl, per PRM.

Following their performance, from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Howell Devine—consisting of “triple threat talents” Joshua Howell (guitar, harmonica and vocals), Pete Devine (drums, washboard) and Joe Kyle Jr. (bass)—will treat listeners to their mix of Delta/Country blues and “wildly syncopated rhythms,” per PRM.

Festival seating is offered at the concert up to a limited number, while guests are also encouraged to bring along their own lawn chairs Friday night.

PRM is a volunteer-run nonprofit that produces the annual concert series in support of its mission to build community through the unifying language of music, per the organization.
