WriterCoach Connection is readying for back-to-school in Contra Costa County and beyond by calling for volunteers for its fall coaching season.
The organization’s volunteer coaches—who are fully trained and background-checked—offer free online and in-person critical thinking and writing coaching to 7-12th grade students during class, per its website. Previous teaching experience is not required to become a volunteer.
WriterCoach Connection’s College Is Real initiative kicks off at the end of August, while its middle school coaching sessions start in October. Coaching typically occurs in schools and youth-centric organizations with students who’ve had unequal access to educational opportunities, according to the organization on its website.
