The Grape Nest wine bar is in the process of moving from its former location at 229 Tewksbury Ave. to its new spot at 201 Tewksbury Ave., the property formerly occupied by Aky’s Cafe.

Marlina Miller, owner of The Grape Nest, recently received unanimous approval from the Planning Commission to sell wine and beer on or off the premises. She announced on social media the lease for the new, expanded digs started Oct. 5.

The new location is 1,416 square feet in size. The front half of the space will be used as an open lounge/tasting room with a small office, restroom and storage area at the back, according to city planning documents. The stated hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Point Richmond Neighborhood Council “unconditionally supports” The Grape Nest, calling the business “well-run and respectful” and “flourishing in our neighborhood.”
