A new restaurant called “The Backyard” is serving up breakfast and lunch adjacent to Whale Point Marine & Hardware in Richmond, according to the Richmond City Manager’s Office.

The Backyard is located at 205 Cutting Blvd. (at 2nd St.) and opens Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Menu items include burgers, tartines, breakfast sandwiches and coffee.

The Backyard’s Instagram page posted video from its grand opening earlier this month that showed an outdoor eatery with fun, colorful decor, palm trees and food trucks, covered seating and a variety of games including cornhole, ping pong and connect four.

“Enjoy music, games, food, and a beautiful mural that gives the Backyard a cozy ambience,” the City Manager said.

Curbside pickup is available. Check out The Backyard’s website at richmondbackyard.com.

In 2019, Richmond City Council nixed a plan to build a mini storage facility with artist studios at 205 Cutting Blvd. amid opposition from the Sante Fe Neighborhood Council.
