Richmond Public Library West Side Branch to host author Scott Badler

Scott Badler, author of the new book JFK and the Muckers of Choate: A Real-to-Life Novel, will host a talk and book signing at the Richmond Public Library’s West Side Branch on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 6:30 p.m.

The Standard profiled the Marina Bay resident in advance of his book’s May release. The historical fiction covers about a year and a half in the life of JFK at the Choate School in Wallingford, Conn., during which time he led a revolt against the high school’s administration. During that period, JFK developed leadership skills that led to “mischievous pranks, but also to school reforms,” as stated by the Library.

“The book shows how Kennedy developed empathy for the poor and disenfranchised – experiencing prejudice for his Catholic faith and his Irish identity,” Library officials state.
