Uma Mishra, a Richmond resident, social justice and women’s rights leader, speaker, and coauthor of the children’s book, Loujain Dreams of Sunflowers, is coming to the Richmond Public Library for a book event on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

The event will take place at 3:30 p.m. in the Madeline Whittlesey Room at the Richmond Main Public Library at 325 Civic Center Plaza.

Mishra will read and discuss Loujain Dreams of Sunflowers, a moving story about a little girl who dreams of flying. The book was inspired by the work of formerly imprisoned human rights activist Loujain AlHathloul.

Art activities and light refreshments will follow the reading and discussion, according to the City Manager’s Office newsletter.
