Of the 1,950 cars screened at a sobriety checkpoint in Richmond on Friday, just one person was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to police.
The grant-funded checkpoint took place Friday evening at Richmond Parkway and Hilltop Drive, Richmond police Capt. Al Walle reported.
While only one person was busted for DUI, police made one felony arrest, one misdemeanor arrest, impounded eight cars and wrote 47 citations during the checkpoint, Walle said. The breakdown of what the arrests and citations were for wasn’t immediately available.
