Man injured in shooting on Richmond Greenway

A man was shot and injured on the Richmond Greenway Monday night, police said.

Police responded to bicycle and pedestrian trail at S. 45th Street at about 10:46 p.m. following a Shotspotter activation of eight rounds in the area, Richmond police Capt. Al Walle said.

Officers located a man suffering from several gunshot wounds. The man said that he was shot while riding his bicycle on the trail and saw two men fleeing the scene, Walle said.

A CHP helicopter transported the victim to a trauma center in stable condition, Walle said.
