It’s an opportunity to clean out your garage to benefit a worthy local cause.

Cynthia Burke, the president and founder of Bee Holistic Cat Rescue and Care in Richmond, is appealing to the community for donations of items to sell on ebay, the proceeds of which will benefit the cat rescue and hospice. Currently the nonprofit’s online inventory is running low.

According to Burke, “things that are small, valuable & unbreakable” typically ship and sell well on ebay, particularly vintage goods, electronics, practical items, kitchen objects, tools and the like. She noted that clothes and shoes are often difficult to sell, so she’d prefer not to receive those types of contributions.

Burke suggests community members view Bee Holistic’s ebay page to get an idea of what she lists for sale; donated items are tax deductible since Bee Holistic is a registered nonprofit.

Bee Holistic is operated out of Burke’s home, so the shelter visits are by appointment, with afternoons being good timing.  To donate items for sale on ebay, contact Burke at 510-237-1190 or [email protected].

Aside from arranging appointments for donation drop-offs, “we’re always happy to help with your behavior, diet, housing or other concerns,” said Burke.
