Richmond recently received a $575,000 federal grant to provide workforce training for 125 local residents who have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and another $162,000 state grant to provide supportive services to workers in underseved populations, particularly English-language learners.

“With over 11,000 layoffs in Richmond due to the pandemic, these and other grant funds are critically important in helping people gain the tools they need to return to the workforce,” according to Mayor Tom Butt.
