Richmond’s DC Custom Wheels is making it easier for health care workers to keep rolling down the road during the pandemic.

Owner Donnie Cerda is offering health care workers free flat tire repairs throughout the pandemic. To take advantage of the offer, all they have to do is show their medical badge. Per the tire expert, a flat tire typically takes about 10-15 minutes to change.

For Cerda, COVID-19 has hit close to home given that his wife and two children all work in the health field, with his two children both serving as lab techs at Kaiser Permanente and his wife working in Customer Care at UCSF. Through them, he has had a front row seat regarding the pandemic’s devastating impact.

“My kids are in the medical field, so I told them to tell anybody they work with they would get free flat tire repairs,” said Cerda.

“They’re VIP to us,” Cerda said about the health care workers serving on the front lines of the pandemic.

“I just want to make sure they’re all on the road. Without them we’d be in more trouble right now. As long as you’re in the medical field, we’ll take care of you,” he added.

DC Custom Wheels is located at 629 23rd Street in Richmond. For more info, contact the business at 510.680.5100.
