Bridge Commissary Kitchen extends free meal pickups through May

By Kathy Chouteau

Bridge Commissary Kitchen at Bridge Storage and ArtSpace is extending its “Chef Popup & Pickup,” offering of free gourmet lunches throughout May.

Each Wednesday in May (May 6, 13, 20 and 27) between 12-2 p.m., members of the community can pick up a free, gourmet meal to-go at Bridge, located at 23 Maine Ave. in Richmond.

Those interested should click here on Monday for the Eventbrite ticket link to register for that week’s free Chef Popup & Pickup meal. According to Bridge Marketing Director Iris AlRoy, the meal pick-up is “touchless” and observes social distancing protocols.

May’s culinary offerings will feature the cuisine of Kit’s Kitchen, Bridge’s own brand. On Wednesdays throughout the month, Kit’s Kitchen will be preparing an array of different Harvest Grain Bowls prepared in-house.

For May 6, the bowl will include grains, salad greens and legumes topped with gomasio, an Eastern condiment made with sesame, salt, and spices, according to Bridge.

Per AlRoy, May’s Harvest Grain Bowls will be “healthy, locally sourced, organic grain bowls that are super healthy.”
