After a woman’s attempted kidnapping Friday afternoon, North & East neighborhood residents are being asked to check their video surveillance footage with the aim of identifying the suspect.
A woman reported to police at 2:24 p.m. yesterday that a man grabbed her from behind and attempted to drag her toward his vehicle while she was cleaning out her vehicle near her home in the 500 block of 43rd Street, according to Richmond police Capt. Al Walle.
The woman said she screamed and fought with the suspect until she was able to escape and run into her home. “The suspect calmly walked back to his car and drove north on 43rd Street,” Walle said.
Before the attack, the woman reported seeing an early 2000 model, white Toyota Camry drive past her and park along the curb. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his early 30s standing about 5-10 with a slender build, light complexion, clean shaven black mustache short black hair and a tattoo on the upper, inner portion of his left bicep. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a lime green colored shirt.
