Richmond has a new spot where people can relax and sip a locally-sourced glass of wine after a long week at work.
The Artisan Kitchen and Café in the city’s Marina Bay neighborhood is popping the cork on its new Wine Garden this weekend, with launch day set for Fri., Oct. 15, according to proprietor Liane Ingham.
The soon-to-be-unveiled Wine Garden at the European-style café can be experienced on its picturesque outdoor patio, as well as indoors where a wine bar has been added. Wineries featured at the new Wine Garden will include Urban Legend Cellars, a boutique winery in Alameda, and Comstock Wines out of Healdsburg, which offers award-winning wines.
“I wanted to open our Wine Garden as an expansion to our café, as I am very passionate about wine and food,” said Ingham, who relayed that she aims to “bring a new and different experience to Richmond.” She added that she thought the new space would be “a lovely place for people to enjoy a glass of wine after work or on the weekend with friends and family.”
The café, which is known for featuring organic, seasonal and locally grown produce and meats, has a mini-menu planned for the Wine Garden that’s aligned with its culinary vision.
Per Ingham, the Wine Garden menu will offer: A Charcuterie Board assortment of gourmet meats, breads, olives and spreads; Cheese Board featuring local cheese and breads; Burrata Salad with heirloom tomato and balsamic drizzle; Blistered Shishito Peppers with lemon Japanese sea salt; Artisan Crabcakes with homemade chipotle aioli; and Artisan Stack with fried zucchini, sweet potato, Yukon potato slowly baked with melted blue cheese.
The Wine Garden’s hours of operation starting this weekend are: Friday from 5-9 p.m., Saturday 2-8 p.m. and Sunday from 2-8 p.m. The café is open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; check out the menus here.
