The San Pablo Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting Friday night in the 14700 block of San Pablo Avenue.
Just before 10 p.m., officers were called to the area after a gunshot detection system and several neighbors reported gunfire.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been shot at least once. Police and medical workers tried to save his life, but the man died at the scene.
Detectives closed the road between Lake Street and Rivers Street for several hours to collect evidence.
The road has since reopened, but detectives are still working to find out who shot the man and why it happened.
They have not released the man’s name yet because they are still trying to reach his family.
