Paradise Indian Restaurant & Sweets at 3550 San Pablo Dam Road aims to expand its space and upgrade its alcohol service.

The plan involves expanding the current dining area into an adjacent vacant suite. This change would increase the restaurant’s size from 3,248 square feet to 5,104 square feet. The new space will add about 30 seats using new booths and a counter.

The owner, Gurjinder Singh, is also asking to change the restaurant’s current beer and wine license to a full liquor permit. He notes that customers often ask for cocktails or spirits with dinner.

City staff recommend approving the request, which will be made before the Planning Commission on Tuesday. They noted that the project is exempt from environmental reviews because it only involves interior changes to an existing building.
