The Hercules Library will host a free Repair Fair on Saturday, March 21, from 1-4 p.m.
Volunteers and professional fixers from RecycleMore and the Reuse Alliance will help repair household items to keep them out of landfills. Residents can bring in any small item they can carry, such as non-electric bikes, clothes, furniture, lamps, and appliances. While the team will do its best to fix these items, repairs depend on available parts and the condition of the object. Experts cannot work on microwaves or cell phones but can provide a list of local professionals who do.
The event also includes a clothing swap where people can trade clean clothes and accessories for something different. To help the fixers prepare, the library strongly suggests that participants register their items in advance. You can find more details and sign up on the library website.
